Final Age Category Formats 2005


AGE CATEGORY FORMATS:
To accommodate all the teams who wished to enter the event, the formats of each age group differes, so that we can provide the most interesting competition possible, with every team playing a minimum of 4 meaningful games if possible. The lengths of matches remain as published. U11 andtimes are set to comply with F.A. directives, and so the boys will have more than enough football over the weekend.
All age categories are 11-a-side except category E1 and E2, which is 7-a-side.

Under-19
Under 19 (category A): For players born on or after 01/01/86
8 teams will compete in two sections of 4 teams. The top two teams in each section will go forward to the semi-finals to decide who plays in Monday's Blackpool Cup final. The bottom two teams in each section will play in the Challenge Cup semi-finals to decide the finalists of this competition. If any of the semi-finals and finals are drawn then penalties will decide the result. Extra time will not be played. All games will be 20 minutes each way.

Under-17
Under 17 (category B1): For players born on or after 01/01/88.
11 teams will compete in two sections, one of 5 teams and one of 6 teams. The top two teams in each section will go forward to semi-finals to decide who will play in Monday's Blackpool Cup final. If the semi-finals and/or final is drawn then penalties will decide the result. Extra time will not be played.
All games will be 20 minutes each way.

Under-16
Under 16 (category B2): For players born on or after 01/01/89.
14 teams will compete in two sections of 7 teams. The top two teams in each section will go forward to semi-finals to decide who will play in Monday's Blackpool Cup final. If the semi-finals or final is drawn then penalties will decide the result. Extra time will not be played.
All games will be 15 minutes each way.

Under-15
Under 15 (category C1): For players born on or after 01/01/90.
16 teams will compete in four sections of 4 teams. The top two teams in each section will go forward to the Blackpool Cup quarter-finals and these winners will play in semi-finals to decide who will play in Monday's Blackpool Cup final. The bottom two teams in each section will go forward to the Challenge Cup quarter-finals which will also be played in a knock-ut manner If the quarter-finals,semi-finals and/or final is drawn then penalties will decide the result. Extra time will not be played.
All games will be 20 minutes each way.

Under-14
Under 14 (category C2): For players born on or after 01/01/91.
25 teams will compete in five sections of 5 teams. The top team in each section and the best 3 second placed teams will play in the Blackpool Cup quarter-finals. The winners of these games will play in the semi-finals to decide the two teams which will go forward to Monday's Blackpool Cup Final.
If Quarter, Semi-final ties or the final is drawn then penalties will decide the result. Extra time will not be played.
All games will be 15 minutes each way.

Under-13
Under 13(category D1): For players born on or after 01/01/92.
20 teams will compete in four sections of 5 teams. The top two teams in each section will go forward to the Blackpool Cup Quarter finals and the winners of these games will go into the semi-finals to decide the two teams who will go forward to Monday's final.
If any quarter-final, semi-final tie and/or the finals are drawn then penalties will decide the result. Extra time will not be played.
All games will be 15 minutes each way.

Under-12
Under 12 (category D2): For players born on or after 01/01/93.
10 teams will compete in two sections of 5 teams. The top two teams in each section will go forward to the Blackpool Cup semi-finals to decide the two teams who will go forward to Monday's final.
If any semi-final tie and/or the finals are drawn then penalties will decide the result. Extra time will not be played.
All games will be 15 minutes each way.
Note: A smaller pitch with slightly lower cross bar is used for ALL of the under-12 games.

Under-11
Under 11 (category E1): For players born on or after 01/01/94.
THIS IS A NON-COMPETITIVE FESTIVAL27 teams will play seven games against other teams in three defined sections. There will be no winners. The scores will not be recorded, all in accordance with the rules laid down by the spoert's governing bodies. There will be no semi-finals or finals and trophies will not be presented. ALL participants will receive a medalc.
All games will be 10minutes each way.

Under-10
Under 10 (category E2): For players born on or after 01/01/95.
THIS IS A NON-COMPETITIVE FESTIVAL10 teams will play nine games against all other teams. There will be no winners. The scores will not be recorded, all in accordance with the rules laid down by the spoert's governing bodies. There will be no semi-finals or finals and trophies will not be presented. ALL participants will receive a medalc.
All games will be 10minutes each way.
