PITCHES:
|
|
Twelve grass pitches at Common Edge Playing Fields, Common Edge
Road, Blackpool will be used for the qualifying rounds and the semi-finals on
Saturday and Sunday.
These pitches are council pitches and they receive
considerable wear and tear throughout the season. Teams should be aware that in
some places these pitches may be in less than perfect condition.
All
finals will be played on the enlcosed ground of Blackpool Mechanics FC, also at
Commond Edge, except for Challenge Cup finals and the under-10 Blackpool Cup
final. These three games will be played on outside pitches.

CHANGING
FACILITIES:
|
|
Changing room facilities are very limited indeed. Because of this,
teams are required to share the available space and showers with several other
teams. Therefore, teams must only change in the room allocated to them on
arrival, and they must remove their clothes and belongings once they have
changed.
Under no circumstances should valuables or clothes be left
in any changing room.
The organisers cannot be held
responsible for any property or other items lost or stolen from teh changing
room areas.
Look after all your belongings all the time. It only
takes a few seconds' carelessness to lose them.
You will be allocated
changing space on arrival and each team's name will be on the changing room
door.
If weather conditions allow and it is not too inconvenient, it
is suggested that teams change at their accommodation and travel to the sports
grounds in their sports gear. Remember, however, it could be very cold at the
pitches and players should have suitable clothing for prevailing weather
conditions.
The following rules must be observed in ALL changing room
areas:
- Smoking is not allowed in the building.
- Footballs must not be kicked or thrown indoors.
- Keep your area tidy. Others must use it after you.
- All showers must be turned off after use.

BLACKPOOL MECHANICS
CLUBHOUSE:
|
|
The Clubhouse will be open throughout the tournament.
Club
officials, supporters and spectators are welcome to use the club, in which soft
and alcoholic drinks can be purchased. Coffee, tea, and hot and cold snacks are
also available.
The clubhouse is a great place to meet and relax with other
managers. A full scoreboard will be found in the clubhouse.
Please
remember, however, this is a licensed club and people under the age of 18 must
be supervised and are NOT allowed alcohol. |

FIRST
AID:
|
|
First Aid is provided during the tournament by St. John's
Ambulance Service. Their caravan will be on site throughout. Teams
requiring medical assistance should go directly to the medical caravan.
|
|
|
TOURNAMENT
FINALS:
|
|
All Tournament finals take place on Monday, April 12 in Blackpool
Mechanics enclosed grounds. Games will commence at 9:00 AM and will be played
one after the other. A full program will be provided.
Remember and arrange
your departure time for after your age group's final. |

SHUTTLE
BUS:
|
|
Shuttle buses will run between Gynn Square and the pitches, all
day. Tickets, which must be booked in advance, cost £6.00 per person.
These tickets allow unlimited use of the shuttle bus on Saturday and
Sunday.
If you have purchased tickets please make sure you know the
timetable and route, and that you are on time, particularly first thing in the
morning, when you will be allocated a particular pick up time and point, so
that you will arrive at the pitches on time for your first match. The
timetable, route and the tickets will be given to you on arrival.

PARKING:
|
|
Parking has become a major problem because of the inconsiderate
parking of many drivers at the tournament. This year strict rules will be
applied and a professional security firm will control the parking
arrangements.
To avoid Confusion a strict parking policy will be enforced
this year. Parking arrangements are as follows: Large buses will park
immediately in front of the changing rooms, cars and mini-buses will
park in The Shovels car park, at the rear. Parking is not allowed on the
roadway and access paths.
Please be considerate. Drivers who are not will
be given a ticket by the police. |
