Tournament Rules 2005

  1. Rules.  All matches should be played in accordance with the Laws of the game as laid down by the International Football Association Board, as issued by F.I.F.A.
The organising club, above, has received the necessary Permission to host the tournament from The English Football Association.
The organising club shall form an organising committee (tournament committee) which shall be responsible for all arrangements in connection with the competition.
  2. Referees.  All matches will be controlled by referees affiliated with The English F.A. or The Scottish F.A. Official referees from Europe may also be used. For all preliminary round matches, each team must designate one person to act as linesman.
Referees will be paid a fee of £100 for officiating the event.
  3. Only teams who are affiliated with a recognised national association are eligible to take part in the tournament.
Team Leader.  Every team must be accompanied by an adult (over 18 years of age). The name, address, and date of birth of this adult must be printed clearly on his team's registration sheet. All players must be over the age of 9. This adult will be deemed to be the team leader and he will be responsible for the behaviour of his players, on and off the field of play. He will be held responsible for the actions his team within the sports complex and within all other facilities available to the group.
  4. Age Categories/Dispensations.
A   - Boys born on or after 01/01/86
B1 - Boys born on or after 01/01/88
B2 - Boys born on or after 01/01/89
C1 - Boys born on or after 01/01/90
C2 - Boys born on or after 01/01/91
D1 - Boys born on or after 01/01/92
D2 - Boys born on or after 01/01/93
E1 - Boys born on or after 01/01/94
E2 - Boys born on or after 01/01/95
Age Control.   Prior to commencement of the tournament the team leader must submit, to the tournament committee, a registration sheet which contains the full name, date of birth and team number of every player in his team.
All players must provide proof of their age and identity. They may be asked to show this proof any time.
  5. Duration of Play.
Categories Preliminary Rounds Finals
A / B1 / C1 2 x 20 minutes 2 x 20 minutes
B2/C2 / D1 / D2 2 x 15 minutes 2 x 15 minutes
E1 / E2 2 x 10 minutes 2 x 15 minutes
The tournament committee has the right to alter the duration of play and the tournament format, should a situation arise which makes this necessary.
The half time interval will normally be 5 minutes in length. This period must not exceed 15 minutes.
No half time period in Category E1 and E2
  6. Tournament Format.
Preliminary Rounds:   Each team will play every other team in their section once. The final positions of teams in the preliminary rounds will be determined by the number of points attained. The points applied will be:
3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss.
Where teams are level on points in their group the following will apply.
  • goal difference
  • most goals scored
  • the result of the mutual match
  • the drawing of lots
Placing Matches - Intermediate Rounds:   In the event of a draw, penalty kicks will be taken in accordance with the system laid down by the International Football Association Board in order to determine the winners.
Finals:   In the event of a draw, penalty kicks will be taken in accordance with the system laid down by the International Football Association Board in order to determine the winners.
The referees will mark the results of each match on the teamsheet which will be returned to the control office where the co-ordinator will record the score. Lists of results will be given to teams at the end of each day along with the league standings and final placings, etc. Copies of these results will be forwarded to the appropriate associations.
  7. Awards.   Trophies will be presented to the first and second placed teams in each age group, except Cat E. 16 medals will be presented to the players of trophy winning teams.
In Cat E1 and E2, all players will receive a memento as this a non competitive format with no winners being declared or scores noted as per FA rules
  8. An entry fee of £80 is payable by participating teams.
  9. Team Sheets.  Prior to each game the team leader must hand the referee a teamsheet which must give each player's name, number, and date of birth.
10. Substitutes.  5 players from 7 substitutes named on the teamsheet may be played at any time during the game .
In Category E 1 and E2(U11 and u10) up to 7 rolling substitutes are allowed .
11. Every team is obliged to bring a second choice strip of contrasting colour. If, according to the referee, before the start of the match, the colours are too similar then the team mentioned first in the programme must change.
12. Discipline.  When a player is sent from the field or is given a caution, the tournament committee will be notified immediately after the match by the referee. Any player who has been sent off or has received two cautions in the tournament is not eligible to play in the team's next game.
Note:  All misconduct reports arising from the tournament will be forwarded to the National Association of the host club who will forward these reports to the National Association concerned.
A team's results will be rendered invalid in the following cases:
  • if a team is late for a game without a valid reason
  • if a team uses an ineligible player
  • if the referee has to abandon a game due to misconduct of players, officials, or spectators of that town.
13. Protests.  The referees decision in all matters concerning points of play shall be final and binding. Therefore, protests in this area are not accepted. All other protests should be made only by the responsible team leader to the tournament committee no later than 15 minutes after the match. The tournament committee's decision on all protests is final and binding.
14. The rules of the tournament and decisions of the organising and appeals committee shall be final and binding on all teams in the tournament.
15. Schedule.  The tournament committee has the right to alter the competition schedule should unforeseen circumstances occur.
16. Responsibility.  It is the responsibility of each team to make sure that adequate insurance coverage is provided for their players.
The tournament organisers and Euro-Sportring are not responsible for damage to, and loss or theft of possessions or equipment of participants or clubs. They are also not responsible for harm or injury to any participants.
